Welcome to Golarion in the year 1884. Riddleport is a quiet, industrial-age port in northern Varisia, where both sea and air transport pass through headed to or from the larger towns and cities of the south.
    Riddleport Adventures is a Steampunk roleplaying campaign that includes elements of other genres, including fantasy. The mountains to the west of Riddleport are a source of iron, copper and, most importantly, coal. Coal is the most effecient fuel source for ships and other steam-power machines. Even the gravity-defying airships use coal-burning steam engines to power their Faraday Coils which, in turn, allow them to ignore gravity.
    A more startling feature of Riddleport, and the source of the town's name, is the Riddlegate (or Cyphergate), an ancient arch that rises over the mouth of Riddleport's harbor. Riddleport's College of Cyphermages has spent centuries trying to unravel the mysteries of this ancient megalith.
    All in all, Riddleport is a tiny beacon of civilization far away from the more settled and civilized Inner Sea region, where every day trials and tribulations meet ancient mysteries head-on.
